What Is a Slow-Rising Squishy? A Simple Guide to TPR Squishies

A slow-rising squishy is a soft toy that you can press flat and that then takes its time returning to its original shape. That slow, steady rebound is what makes squishies satisfying to squeeze again and again.

What is TPR?

Our squishies are made from TPR, short for thermoplastic rubber. TPR is soft and flexible: it compresses when you squeeze it and springs back slowly when you let go. It also has a smooth surface that feels pleasant in the hand.

How slow-rise works

When you squeeze a slow-rising squishy, it flattens under the pressure. Once you release it, it gradually rebuilds its shape. How long that takes depends on how hard and how long you press.

Where people use them

  • On a desk, as a quiet fidget during calls and meetings

  • In a bag or pocket, to have something to squeeze on the go

  • On a shelf or desk as fun, food-shaped decor

How to care for your squishy

  • Wipe it clean with a damp cloth

  • Keep it away from heat, sharp objects and direct sunlight

  • Store it where it will not be squashed under heavy items

Who are they for?

Our squishies are recommended for ages 14 and up, as a fun desk accessory for teens and adults.

Our two slow-rising squishies

We currently offer two KOLICO butter stick squishies: the 5.2-inch Strawberry Butter Stick and the 9.5-inch Jumbo Butter Stick. Not sure which to pick? Read our FAQ or compare both sizes.
